Robinho might make a return to Brazilian football

Robinho signed a 6 month long contract with the Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande back in July of 2015 and the Brazilian player has managed to score 3 goals in 9 league appearances but his time in Asia is limited to only half a year unless that he decides extend his contract with the team which is being coached by Luiz Felipe Scolari.

A few months ago, back when Robinho was performing for Santos on a loan deal, the Brazilian player stated that he wanted to make a return to Brazil and spend the last few years of his career playing in his homeland. The former player of Ac.Milan now seems to be unsure about his near future.

The 31 year old player said: “I still haven’t decided. I don’t know yet. Now I’m just thinking about resting and enjoying the holidays. When I am playing I don’t have time for anything else. Then, around the 10th or the 15th of January, I will decide if I will stay in Brazil or if I’m going to keep playing abroad.”

Even though it has only been less than a year since Robinho joined the Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande, he has already aided in their journey of lifting the Chinese Super League and also helped them in reaching the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup as they defeated America in the quarter-finals but were eventually knocked out in the semi-finals after facing off with Barcelona. Robinho suffered yet another disappointment with the national team

Former AC Milan and Real Madrid striker Robinho suffered yet another disappointment with the national team after seeing Brazil get knocked out of the Copa America on penalties to Paraguay.

It was a result that gives huge disappointment to the nation of more than 300 million people. A football frenzied nation, Brazil suffered embarrassing exit at the World Cup 2014 and brought in Dunga in order to compensate for this disappointment. The former World Cup winning captain was given the task of winning the Copa America and he assembled a squad of experience replace – including Robinho – in order to do so.

Yet, although the experience was of no avail as the team suffered a disappointing exit even without reaching the semifinals. Brazil are favourites to reach the final and possibly win it, but losing Neymar in the group stages to a four match suspension proved extremely costly after they failed to find a way past the stubborn Paraguayan defence. Robinho’s career at AC Milan has come to a halt

Robinho’s career at AC Milan has come to a halt after the Brazilian rescinded his contract with the Italian outfit with immediate effect.

Robinho has been at Milan for the last couple of seasons after initially moving on a loan deal from Manchester City. He made the move permanent after a £ 16 million transfer fee was exchanged hands. Yet, the Brazilian has never had a very consistent impact at the San Siro and some of it has been attributed down home sickness. He had already returned to the Brazilian league on a couple of loans spells with Santos – the club where he started his career.

Now, he is on the verge of making a move to the Brazilian league permanent after cancelling his contract with Milan. The contract still had a year to run. Robinho was at Santos on his European wages. Since Santos would have been unable to match those wages, Milan were paying around 40% of it from their own pocket. The opportunity to let go of player who does not want to play for the club and who costs a lot of money to keep seemed hard to let go. Robinho moved to English football in a £ 32 million deal

Former Manchester City striker Robinho moved to English football in a £ 32 million deal in the final day of the transfer window 2008.

He was the first major signing by the club’s current Arab owners. It did not take long for Robinho to establish his mark in English football with a goal against Chelsea, who were believed to be the club on the verge of signing him before City pounced upon the Brazilian. Even though the start was extremely good, Robinho’s performances eventually tailed off and he was allowed to leave on a relatively low transfer fee to AC Milan.

Robinho is now back in Brazilian football and is expected to stay there permanently. Once regarded as the next Pele, the 31-year-old has never produced a consistent run of performances to be regarded as the world’s best player. At the time of his move to City, not many Brazilians knew of the Premier League outfit and it was the case with Robinho himself. In his first press conference, he strangely remarked that he was happy to be joining Chelsea. Reflecting on this strange interview, Robinho has admitted for the first time that he did not know about City when he joined the club.
