Brazilian star Neymar has made a reaction to the hostile reception he has received from the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) fans over the course of the last month. The PSG forward has been the subject of loud boos from the PSG fans since the club’s exit from the Champions League last month at the hands of Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid. Neymar has been targeted for boos by the PSG fans alongside Lionel Messi who’s in his first season at Parc des Princes after completing a free transfer to the French champions last summer.
Messi and Neymar are part of the famed PSG front trio alongside KylianMbappe. Frenchman Mbappe has been the star of an average PSG team this season and he has been only one spared from the hostile reception by the fans amongst the aforementioned front trio despite the fact that he might leave the club when this summer’s transfer window reopens in a matter of weeks.
Neymar reacted to the recent chorus of boos from the PSG fans in a chat with ESPN Argentina after the league game with Lens at home as he advised to stop booing and that he’s at the French club for the long haul. The former Barcelona and Santos attacker reminded the fans that he still has three years to go on his PSG contract and that they would need more air if they continue to boo him.
PSG were able to reclaim the French league title at the weekend despite the 1-1 draw with 10-man Lens. It was a low-key affair for the PSG fans and players as they barely celebrated the league title win courtesy the disappointing performance of the team since the start of the season. Fans are still aggrieved with the manner of their last 16 exit to Real Madrid in March.
