Newly crowned French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) stepped up preparations for the home game with Troyes in Ligue 1 this weekend in training on Thursday. The training was overseen by manager Mauricio Pochettino who’s on his way out of the club if reports in the media are anything to go by. It has been reported that senior PSG officials are ready to move on from Pochettino after a disappointing season that yielded only the league title. The former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur manager came in for severe criticisms after his team lost to Real Madrid in the last 16 via a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.
Brazilian star Neymar, Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, KylianMbappe and the other big names were involved in the aforementioned PSG training on Thursday. Neymar and his PSG teammates have three games to play between now and the rest of the season starting with the Troyes this weekend. All the three remaining games are in the French top flight.
Neymar and his colleagues can no longer achieve the 90-point mark in the league this season after the 3-3 draw with hosts Strasbourg in their last league game last week Friday. The draw from the Strasbourg game took their point tally to 79 points meaning that the maximum tally for PSG is 88 if they manage to win all their remaining three games.
The first of the three remaining league games for PSG start this weekend with the visit of Troyes who are still in danger of falling into the relegation playoff spot ahead of their last three games. PSG will play hosts to Troyes on Sunday before facing hosts Montpellier on Saturday, May 14, 2022. PSG will play their final game of the 2021/22 season when they entertain bottom team Metz at home on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
